Posted: November 22, 2009 Filed under: Art, Crappy Writing | Tags: fair, nanowrimo, sketch Leave a comment »ok, stats first for a change:
- Total words: 39,605 (almost 40k woo)
- Today’s words: 3,011
new chapters start at 85: Fair_Day22
today includes 2 new fights (starting with the one I ducked out of yesterday so you get to see Zephyr vs. Wiynd 😀 ) and in the other fight a major character dies for the first time in ages.
anyhoo, after a good days typing whats better to do than make a crapload of drawings? I wouldnt know, I never managed both at once, but I did try today, I started making some rough sketches for all the characters today, heres some that arent the worst:
anyhoo, thats me done for today, its time to continue my gintama marathon ^__^
edit: oh yeah, I can draw because I have hijacked my dad’s wacom 😀
Day 21, playing catchup
Posted: November 21, 2009 Filed under: Art, Crappy Writing | Tags: fair, nanowrimo, pixels 1 Comment »so I finally finish reading my novel so far today and am back up to speed, but when I start typing again what do I find? MY WORDCOUNT WAS BROKEN!
somehow on my pc the file had been collecting extra words somewhere and the last draft was closer to 34k than 35k, so I’ve had to catch up to where I thought I was before my wordcount could legitimately go up. but now I’m using the word counter on the NaNoWriMo site itself so from here on all stats are accurate 🙂
- Total words: 36,594
- Words today: 2,563
A good amount written today (turns out this morning I was actually behind the target for the first time all month) if I can keep this pace or maybe enter the konami code and have a couple of days like the first one I’ll finish with time to spare.
anyhoo, new chapters start at no. 80: Fair_Day21
also as I dont have any tablet I’m back to making pixel art (which I totally suck at from lack of practice):
Day 19, just illustrations
Posted: November 19, 2009 Filed under: Art | Tags: fair, nanowrimo, pencils, sketch Leave a comment »Since taking a break for miniLD (which is downloadable now gaiz) I was thrown a little off sync with writing Fair, so I’m re-reading it before I get back to writing. (and I’m reading the PDF to keep me from making any edits!)
however I have been doing a couple of sketchy sketches in my rarely used sketch book (been away from pc and this one I’m at doesent have a tablet… its like living in the 90s or something!)
so here is a sketch of Mav (adult mav, in non-psycho mode):
And here’s a sketch of Riopene and her puppet, it was more to get something in my head for the puppet, riopene herself looks horrible here so she will change totally, she looks more like a clown than some warlord.
I am really out of practice actually drawing stuff by hand, I guess that’s another thing I have to work on.
more miniLD, also a Fair sketch

also I had time before doctor who (which was awesome btw) to do an illustration for my NaNoWriMo novel, this is Aella just before the end of Act 1:
Day 13, thats it for the weekend I think
Posted: November 13, 2009 Filed under: Crappy Writing | Tags: fair, nanowrimo Leave a comment »Didn’t get that much written today, Â but I wasnt expecting to write much anyway, I’m collabing miniLD this weekend with my e-brother so thats what I’ll be doing instead of NaNoWriMo updates.
staaaaaats:
- Total words: 35,099
- Todays words: 1,445 (below average, but above what I need to hit daily to finish on time so its ok)
new chapters are from 76 onwards: Fair_Day13
I don’t know if it shows but it feels like I’m dilly-dallying with the plot at the moment because I’m not confident it will take 15k words to finish, but I’m starting to think I should just go for it and stop worrying, I’ve left some plot stuff on the side I can throw in if needed and that’s not even counting all the descriptions I’ll be adding once the story is done. so yeah, I’ll power on with things once I get back to it, keep the energy for now and if it burns out soon I can fix it up after 😀
