Day 23, uuuuuugh -_-

Today I only wrote 903 words… and they all suck 🙁

  • Total Words: 40,508
  • Today’s words: 903

new chapters start… 93: Fair_Day23

Its mostly because I am writing stuff I have been building up to for ages and I’m finding that it’s difficult to get the right tone, so I’m just wading through it as best I can and once I’ve written the rest I’ll come back to this stuff.

also I started storyboarding a trailer but I doubt I’ll ever get round to making it, I dont have the time and there are other projects that will have to take priority (very exciting and cool projects) in december.

bleeeeh, I’ll go at it full steam tommorow. I need to veg out listening to music tonight I think

edit: after watching Logan in super speed I figured I’d check out this multires stuff in blender, and it turns out blender can do what I liked about z-brush but for free, so yay. this guy was made from a cube:

May I suggest free-flow writing for a while?

Basically put your fingers on the keys (or get a pen and paper if you can’t touch type) and type/write everything that comes into your head, don’t stop and think about it, don’t even bother with grammar or spelling, just write/type. If you can’t think of anything to write/type about for the moment, start describing the characters or whatever setting you have in your head. Never break the flow, just keep going. Try to keep writing for an hour and see what comes out. You may surprise yourself.

(and sorry for my lack of reading, I am an incredibly slow reader and I’ve only gotten up to the first flashback chapter, plus, I have over things that need reading more urgently (work related things)).

thats actually a pretty useful suggestion, thanks 🙂
even if what I write is rubbish it will get me past this rut.

also dont worry about not having read stuff, honestly when I started I wasn’t expecting anyone to read the thing at all ^_^

I think a rut is quite useful, because to me it feels like organising things inside. Usually it lasts only a day (in my case) in which i get absolutely nothing properly done, and then the next day, it seems like the pressure has built up too much and it all comes flooding out.

Anyway, good luck with your novel.

that does seem to be something I’ve found too Willem, today everything flowed quite easily and I was even able to improve what I did yesterday in just a few tweaks 🙂
