Getting this far was not easy, especially due to my graphics card just ending this month, BUT thanks to your support I was able to get a replacement relatively quickly (with a minimal loan from a family member), so I just want to say that I am REALLY grateful for your support. I know I say that a lot but I really mean it, this is the kind of thing that could have just ruined me for a good while but this time it was only a speedbump… I mean, a bank-account-emptying speedbump but I know I can recover thanks to all of you <3
Anyway, I really hope you enjoy these dice, this is the first release candidate so hopefully you’ll find it very stable and slick, so 1.0 is very soon 🙂

More Roguelike interface stuff

I improved the action card interactions, and made it so the interface is both on screen, and also a bunch of physical objects on the table beside the game:
also I modelled/textured a notepad with the plan that it will be the player’s inventory. Items you pick up from the board will be placed on that.
I’m thinking once I have that working, the other part of the UI will be the player’s character sheet, with HP/MP etc at the top, stats and then equipment beneath. But everything might change, it’s all rough for now aaaaand I really should spend more time working on the game than the UI 😛
Roguelike mouse control
Posted: August 20, 2021 Filed under: Patreon Leave a comment »I made a start on mouse input for movement and specifying action targets today, it’s still a little clunky but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be able to make it so the game doesn’t need a million shortcuts for every little thing (although it probably will have those, because those are COOL :P)
Roguelike Action Card work
Posted: August 20, 2021 Filed under: Patreon Leave a comment »I added some basic action cards to the interface just in time for August’s monthly build, but you couldn’t really do anything *with* them – action use was still using the temporary UI. So today I spent a little time making it so you can fan through available action cards and select one.
Executing the action is still done with the keyboard or temp UI, but I’m planning to make it so you can click on stuff on the board soon. The game ~should~ be playable with just the mouse if all goes well 🙂
