Monthly Build 2018/01 – Fell Tracer

This month’s WIP game is from a (long (loooong (so very long))) while ago, it’s called “Fell Tracer”, and a lot of what went on to be Dusk Child came from this… But while Dusk Child has a very focused and smaller map, this game… doesn’t. My recommendation is don’t play this game any further than you enjoy it, it’s not worth trying to get all the items if you’re not having a good time 🙂

If you’re curious, I did stream the process of updating this game and playing it through so I could make this build for you, a video of that is here if you want to see it.

You will probably need some pointers if you’re gonna play this one (I could have done with them when coming back to it lol) so here they are:

! Important notes: !

1) To get past the first area you need to use the cube (it’s already in your inventory, I never coded the “pick-up” stuff for it) and press the “travel to checkpoint button. (Press “space”, use arrows to find the face with a circular button, press “A”)

2) You will probably need this map if you want to try getting all the things

3) Also this explanation of abilities

4) You can only hold three abilities at once, a lot of routes are impossible without the right combination of abilities for them

5) Oh also you need to know the controls I guess;

– Arrows = Run/jump/duck/crawl & rotate cube

– Space = Show/hide cube

– A,S,D = interact with cube, use/place ability in slot 1,2,3

Mixed Concept Art

Sorry I’ve not been so active this month, I’ll drop an explanation at the bottom of this post but first… want to see a bunch of concept art I found whilst backing up all my old projects? 🙂

That’s from folders A-F of my “All Projects” folder, so there’s probably a bunch more, if you’d like that just let me know.

I don’t tend to draw concepts so much anymore (It only slows me down and I don’t need to share an idea with anyone but myself) but it’s kind of nice for me to see these tbh, I like old doodles 🙂

anyway I said I’d have an explanation for why I’ve not been so active this month, and the main reason is I was *too* active through October/November/December and I got hecka burned out. I’ve been taking time to just chill and do some non-dev stuff (like organising all my projects and finding old concept art 😉 ). A few other things have been cropping up lately too but I think I’ll be back to work soon. I’m not sure exactly on which project but we’ll see.

Oh and I’ll have the monthly build ready in the next week or so, tbh right after going through all my old projects I’m spoiled for choice – so much stuff I wanna show you!

Monthly Build 2019/03 – Dreamsent: The Hunger of Bekg

Hey, here’s the first build for this, it is VERY work-in-progress but hopefully you can start to see a glimpse of where I’m trying to get to with it?
