This version of the game will probably only ever be available for patrons, because I loooooove you all! <3
Hope you’re having a good December!
Monthly Video – March 2020
Posted: August 20, 2021 Filed under: Patreon Leave a comment »Here’s the monthly video, I know it was going to be a monthly stream, but it took 8 hours just to upload this so my internet it not up for streaming right now. tbh it’s a little scary because I don’t know if I can upload the builds of the app in time for its launch, but we’ll see I guess! (update: Looks like it’s uploaded and you can get it here!)
Anyway the main things in the video are:
- I talk about the app features
- I talk about some behind-the-scenes dev-type stuff
- I solve a cube and talk about working in the lockdown
- I spend another ten minutes talking about the lockdown
- honestly the second half of this video is just a downer and you can probably skip it
Thanks so much for your continued support, I hope you’re looking after yourselves! Don’t forget that as a patron you have access to a bunch of stuff that might help pass the time ๐
$5+ patron stream – (Cancelled, sorry!)

I’ll make sure you get video instead before the end of the month, and hey if you want to chat feel free to drop by my discord <3
Hey so I mentioned it before but Iโm thinking of making my monthly videos live, so that if you want to chat or ask questions we can do that. Iโd like it if we could hang out I guess?
Anyway, itโll be next Wednesday (the 25th), probably in the morning UTC.
Iโm hoping to talk in depth about my cubes project, but if you want to talk about anything else just let me know. I could GLADLY get into talking about my RPG project too because I am full of ideas for it and I canโt wait to get back to it!
Oh and the VOD will stay up of course, so if you miss it you can still see it!

Anyway I am at the point where I’m getting to REALLY dislike working on this cube project, I think it’s coming along really well but WOW I’d much rather be working on my RPG.
Anyway the status rn is that all the work I’m doing is getting the app ready for release, fixing bugs, etc… that said I hope to add an algorithm viewer feature in the next few days to help teach some cubing – I even emailed Jessica Fridrich to ask about including her method in the app. Turns out it’s public domain so the email probably wasn’t necessary, but on the plus side I got to email Jessica Fridrich!!!!
In other news I am still working on my RPG, jotting ideas down and such, and I really think the foundations of the world and core characters are coming together! I’m excited to flesh it all out!

I am continuing to plan things out for it and I am getting a sense of the kind of mythology I might want (and the kind of bad actors who might try to exploit it for their own evil ends!) but it’s not really anything I can show yet.
Most of this week I have spent putting together a way of writing short elements of interactive fiction in tracery, and have unity generate stuff from that. The plan is to use this so (hopefully) by the end of the week, I’ll have a gamebook generator! I put a lot of work into my gamebook system and I’m a little annoyed there is only one released and playable book that uses it, so I really want there to be an infinite number of them instead ๐
Also, yesterday I felt like crap so I spent the whole day in bed and just started working on something I’ve been thinking of since I started getting interested in cubing. Put simply, it’s a magic cube system in unity, you can have cubes of any dimension, and I have been working on gamepad controls that feel like using a real cube. I’d like to make it into an app kind-of like my dice (but omfg I will not spend that much time on it) so you’d be able to make custom cubes, play with them, learn algorithms, have it show you how to solve your IRL cubes… OK yeah that could take a while. Anyway it’s just a little project for now, if you see it start to pull me away from my RPG you have my permission to yell at me a whole bunch ๐
